Project Overview
KTCS Construction recently completed this 30 m² garden gym and leisure room in Harrow, HA3, giving our client a dedicated space to exercise and unwind away from the main house.
We supplied the materials and managed the complete construction, from site clearance and foundations to the flooring and final decoration. Built using brickwork and blockwork, the garden room features a flat roof, a large sliding door and two windows, bringing natural light into the space and providing easy access to the garden.
Project Specifications
The garden room has an approximate floor area of 30 m², with insulated cavity walls, roof and floor insulation, and a rendered exterior. Inside, laminate flooring and freshly decorated walls create a neat, welcoming finish. The layout is dedicated to gym and leisure use, without a bathroom or kitchenette.
Scope of Work
Site Preparation, Excavation and Foundations
We cleared and prepared the construction area, carried out the excavation and completed the foundations. Engineering brickwork formed part of the base before work progressed to the main structure.
Brickwork, Blockwork and Cavity-Wall Insulation
Our team constructed the walls using brickwork and blockwork, incorporating cavity-wall insulation into the build. Roof and floor insulation were also included as part of the garden room’s specification.
Flat Roof, Waterproofing and Rainwater Drainage
We installed the flat roof, completed the waterproofing and fitted the guttering and associated rainwater drainage. Careful attention was given to the roof edges, junctions and finishing details.
Large Sliding Door and Two Windows
A large sliding door connects the room to the garden, while two windows provide additional natural light. These openings help give the garden gym a bright, open feel.
Electrical Installation and Lighting
Electrical work and lighting were completed as part of the overall construction, coordinated with the internal finishing stages.
Laminate Flooring and Interior Finishes
We laid laminate flooring and completed the internal surfaces, painting and decorating. The result is a clean, practical interior that the client can arrange around their exercise equipment and leisure furniture.
External Rendering and Decoration
External rendering and painting completed the building, giving the garden room a tidy, consistent appearance from the garden.

This project brought together our groundworks, bricklaying, roofing, electrical and decorating trades to deliver a complete garden room through one construction team.
The finished space offers a separate setting for home workouts and relaxation, with careful attention to the construction and the visible finishes—from the cavity walls and roof insulation to the sliding door, flooring and decoration.
