KTCS Construction completed this garden room and landscaping project in Edgware, HA8, bringing together contemporary garden architecture and carefully finished outdoor living areas.
The project combines a modern garden building with a covered terrace, surrounding decking, a paved patio and planted borders. Warm, wood-toned cladding contrasts with dark frames and roof detailing, while exterior lighting gives the space an inviting atmosphere in the evening.
Rather than treating the garden room and landscaping as separate features, we brought them together into one coordinated space. The result is a luxurious yet practical garden setting for relaxing, exercising and spending time with family and friends.
Scope of Work
Garden Room Construction and Exterior Finishes
The garden building features a contemporary flat-roof profile, vertical wood-toned cladding and contrasting dark exterior detailing. Glazed doors and windows connect the interior with the garden, while carefully finished edges and trims give the building a clean, refined appearance.
Covered Terrace and Pergola Structure
A covered outdoor area provides a sheltered setting beside the garden room. Its dark framework complements the building’s doors, windows and roofline, creating a consistent appearance across the project.
Decking Installation and Stepped Access
Decking extends around the garden building and beneath the covered terrace, providing space for outdoor seating and convenient access to the rooms. Neatly finished steps connect the decked areas with the paved patio and surrounding garden.
Patio Paving and Hard Landscaping
We completed the patio and associated hard landscaping using large-format, light-coloured paving. The layout brings together the decking, lawn and garden building, with particular attention to paving alignment, edges and changes in level.
Garden Landscaping and Planted Borders
The landscaping incorporates lawn areas and raised planted borders, balancing the building and paved surfaces with greenery. The planting softens the garden’s boundaries and adds an attractive finishing touch around the outdoor living space.
Exterior Lighting and Electrical Work
The lighting includes exterior wall lights and recessed downlights beneath the roof and covered terrace. These highlight the cladding and architectural details while making the outdoor space more welcoming after dark.
Final Detailing and Finishing
Careful attention was given to the visible junctions between the cladding, glazing, decking and paving. These details bring the individual elements together and give the completed project its distinctive, high-quality finish.
